Brasstown is one of the most infamous climbs in the cycling world. It has a history of crushing even the most accomplished of racers. With grades that ramp up as steep as 25%, it is a ride of attrition.
Looking at the elevation profile, you can see this is quite different from the other rides we've been doing.
I've done this climb once before, and barely made it. Having a compact crankset would be VERY beneficial. Unfortunately, since most of my riding takes place in flat Ontario, I will be running standard 39x25 gearing. It'll be interesting to see how I fare this year, having done a bit more muscular endurance training than in previous years.
